A Warren music teacher convicted of raping children back in 1992 will remain behind bars after the Ohio Adult Parole Authority denied him parole.

According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, 70-year-old Martin Petersime has served 32 years of a 12-to-40-year prison sentence on 20 counts including rape, pandering obscenity involving minors, minor in nudity material, pandering sex materials involving minors, corrupting minors and disseminating sexual material to minors.

Prosecutors say several young male victims were taking music lessons with Petersime at the Warren Music Center, while others were hired to clean up there or were enticed with marijuana to come there.

In 1992, one of Petersime's victims went to the Warren Police Department and alerted police to a pornographic video made by Petersime at the music store of him trying to entice a child to perform a sexual act while dancing to a song.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, despite spending many years in prison and taking part in several rehabilitative programs, Petersime was still caught by prison officials downloading pornography and committing sexual acts.

Trumbull County Prosecutor Dennis Watkins is quoted in a press release saying children of Ohio and beyond are safer with Petersime still in prison.

Petersime's next chance at parole will be in May of 2027.
