Sentencing delayed for suspect in police chase that led to deadly Columbiana Co. crash
Sentencing was continued for a Columbiana man who pleaded guilty to fifteen charges filed in connection with the traffic death of a Hanoverton woman.
Forty-year-old Gerald Jackson pleaded guilty to all charges against him in an indictment alleging that he drove a stolen pickup truck into an oncoming car, causing fatal injuries to 47-year-old Jennifer Hunley.
Jackson's sentencing is rescheduled for September 6 at 3:15 p.m.
Investigators say Hunley's car was hit head-on by a stolen Chevrolet Silverado that had crossed the center line on a curve of Teegarden Road in Center Township.
Hunley died 43 days after the crash while in hospice care.
According to the crash report, Jackson was under the influence of amphetamines, marijuana and opiates at the time of the collision.
The indictment said Jackson was being pursued by authorities while driving the stolen truck when the crash occurred.
