A Youngstown man has pleaded guilty in a federal drug case where he allegedly supplied a powerful opiate that resulted in an overdose death.
Eliot Gentry, 27, pleaded guilty to distributing fentanyl resulting in the death of an individual in Mercer County on January 23, 2022, and conspiring to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl, 100 grams or more of fluorofentanyl, and five kilograms or more of cocaine from May 2021 to October 2022, of which he was previously indicted.
Gentry's sentencing is scheduled for December 4, 2024, where he could face a maximum total sentence of 20 years to life in prison, a fine of up to $1 million, or both.
