We're getting a clearer picture of what exactly happened when an ATM was stolen from the Associated School Employees Credit Union (ASECU) in Austintown Tuesday morning.

According to the police report, police were called to the scene just before 3:30 Tuesday morning and found a Bobcat excavation vehicle still running along with the ATM vestibule lying on the ground with debris scattered throughout the drive thru.

Police say tire tracks from the Bobcat traced back to Greenleaf Landscape Supply on South Canfield-Niles Road. Police found muddy footprints that appeared to lead where the vehicle would have been located.

According to the report, security camera video from the scene shows a Dodge Ram truck arrive on the scene and turn its lights off followed by the Bobcat showing up.

From there, the Bobcat drives into the ATM machine several times before physically removing it from the drive thru and placing it in the bed of the truck. Police say the driver then left in the truck leaving the Bobcat behind.

Police say the driver of the Bobcat was a white male wearing dark clothing, a hooded sweatshirt and a dark-colored face mask covering the bottom half of his face.

Police did not have a description for the driver of the truck since they never appeared in the video.

Despite the theft, the credit union remained open and operated as usual.
