A Summit County man was jailed after investigators say he traveled to Salem to pay for sex with someone he thought was a 15-year-old girl.

Instead, 51-year-old Daniel Hosek of Munroe Falls was arrested by an agent from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force on Thursday.

A criminal complaint says Hosek used his phone to make a deal agreeing to pay $160 for sex acts with someone he believed to be a teenage girl.  The person on the other end of the line turned out to be an undercover agent.

Hosek is charged with compelling prostitution, and importuning. Because he’s accused of using a phone to set up the alleged meeting, he is also charged with possessing criminal tools.

During a video arraignment on Friday, Hosek’s bail was set at $10,000 and another hearing is scheduled for August 12.
