Brightside Project gives away book bags, school supplies to Valley students

The Brightside Project continued its works to help kids in the Valley by hosting a school supply giveaway.
They prepared 700 book bags and also gave away school supplies, shoes, and groceries.
The Brightside Project serves kids in Columbiana County and parts of rural Mahoning County like the West Branch, Sebring, Western Reserve areas.
It's a big undertaking but at the end of the day the organization says it's all for the kids.
"It's just to give them a good feeling to start back to school," Brightside Project Executive Director Scott Lewis said. "We all know what it was like when we were little. The first day of school, to be dressed and feel good about yourself, that's why we do it."
If you missed the giveaway, another one is planned for August 15 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Brightside's Salem location.
