Mercy Health Youngstown has opened its 10th walk-in care location.

The new Walk-In Care clinic, located within Mercy Health – Talsman Primary Care in Canfield, officially opened on Monday, July 15. The clinic accepts walk-in patients from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

"Walk-in care is a convenient option that gives patients with non-emergent illnesses the opportunity to be seen by a primary care provider without an appointment on the same day," said Dr. Jim Kravec, Chief Clinical Officer at Mercy Health Youngstown, in a press release. "We're excited to open our 10th walk-in care site and increase access to this type of care for the people of the Mahoning Valley."

According to Mercy Health, walk-in care is similar to urgent care in that you don't need an appointment, but also has the added benefit of the care being "treated just like a primary care physician office visit." Mercy Health says this allows patients to receive the same accessibility of urgent care at a more affordable cost.

Mercy Health also offers walk-in care at the following locations: AustintownChurch HillColumbiana, East PalestineHowlandNorth LimaSalem, SebringWick (YSU).
