Suspect in police pursuit through the Valley back in Pennsylvania facing 30 charges
An Erie, Pennsylvania man accused of taking a 14-year-old girl with him during a police chase through part of the Valley has been brought from Ohio to Pennsylvania to face a host of charges.
Twenty-year-old John Wolfe was transferred from the Portage County Jail in Ohio to the Erie County Prison in Pennsylvania on Thursday where he's charged with assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct.
Wolfe is also wanted in Allegheny County where he's been charged with 27 criminal counts including fleeing from police, speeding, recklessly endangering another person, careless driving, and multiple counts of disobeying traffic control devices.
Wolfe was arrested in April after police said he led them on a pursuit from Pittsburgh through Mahoning and Trumbull Counties. Police say Wolfe was with a 14-year-old girl from Erie during the chase.
Police in Erie had been on the lookout for the girl who had been declared missing and possibly endangered.
Pittsburgh police gave chase after spotting the Toyota that the two were believed to be in.
As officers pursued the car, agencies in Mahoning and Trumbull County were on alert as the chase went along the turnpike and other interstates.
The chase ended near West Branch State Park in Portage County. The teen was not harmed.
