A Salem man is in the Columbiana County Jail after being secretly indicted for allegedly raping a nine-year-old child.

Thirty-two-year-old Brandon Seddon was arrested Monday on charges of rape, sexual battery, and two counts of gross sexual imposition.

According to the indictment, the Barclay Avenue man allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with the child in 2020 and 2021.

Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge Megan Bickerton set Seddon’s bond at $75,000 and ordered him to have no contact with the alleged victim and not have any firearms.

Seddon’s arraignment is scheduled for August 1.
