Motorcycle Club to host Suicide Awareness Bike Run to benefit Rescue Mission of Mahoning County
The Steel Hammerz Motorcycle Club is hosting the second annual Suicide Awareness Bike Run next month.
It will be held on August 3 at the Biker Brewhouse in Austintown. The 22-mile run will lead to The Winery at Pine Lake.
There, an hour-long break will be held until returning back to the brewhouse for an afternoon full of activities.
It costs $20 per rider and $10 per passenger. The first 100 participants will get their choice of a run patch or challenge coin.
Additionally, there will be a 50/50 raffle and live entertainment from DJ INIT, TURBO LOVERS, Together We Fly and The Other LA.
Pre-registration for the event begins at 10 a.m. through 11:45 a.m.
Kickstands go up at noon, according to Steel Hammerz.
Donations collected at the event go to the Rescue Mission of Mahoning County and help provide shelter, food and essential services to those in need, according to a news release from the club.
According to Lynn Wyant, chief development officer for Rescue Mission, the organization has seen an increase in people looking for meals.
In 2023, about 105,125 meals were served and that number is expected to grow.
