Zoetic Global, a sustainability solutions provider based in Cleveland, is opening a new refrigerant plant in Downtown Youngstown.

The plant, located at 360 E. Federal St., will produce a special environmentally friendly patented drop-in refrigerant that reduces carbon emissions and results in energy savings of up to 30 percent. It is a replacement for existing refrigerants.

It will create 30 new jobs to the area, according to Avery Hong, the CEO of Zoetic.

Zoetic rented the 28,500 square-foot building in 2023. It has 25,000 square feet of production space, Hong adds.

This is the second refrigerant facility that the company has in operation. The other facility is in Roseburg, Oregon.

According to the company's website, Zoetic Global delivers energy, water, food, and healthcare technologies to areas of greatest need. The company website also states that the company is working with refrigerant projects in the United StatesAsia, the Middle East, and Africa.

Former valley congressman Tim Ryan serves as the company's Chief of Global Business Development.
