$7M grant approved for improve cybersecurity for local Ohio governments
Gov. Mike DeWine has announced a new cybersecurity software grant totaling $7 million.
The grant is funded by the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program from the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
"It's vital that local government partners across Ohio have the resources they need to protect our citizens," said Lt. Gov. Jon Husted.
The grant can be used to buy endpoint security, multi-factor authentication, vulnerability management and more.

DeWine initially created CyberOhio when he served as Ohio's attorney general. He said, "Today we are taking another crucial step to ensuring our local government partners are protected against cyber threats around the world."
The grant is in efforts to assist local government partners with the cybersecurity software and help them be more prepared and more resilient to future attacks.
