Tri-County Waste customers in Mercer County face late fees amid delayed invoices
People in Mercer County whose trash is collected by Tri-County Waste says the company has sent them a letter they would like to throw in the garbage.
Some customers are frustrated after receiving the letter that also said they had to pay a $10 late fee.
"And [] if we didn't pay our account in full, which would be $106.00, by July 20 we were going to have our services suspended," Tri-County customer, Stephanie Probst said.
Residents believe the company must have sent out their invoices late. They say they received the letter two days ago and were given only four days to pay it.
And to make matters worse, residents said they should not have been billed yet because their next payment was scheduled for August.
"Our last payments were due in May and we are billed quarterly. So, based on that we shouldn't have a payment due at this time," Probst said.
Attempts made by 21 News to reach Tri-County for comment were unsuccessful.
Probst said she is one of the few customers that had some success contacting them and getting the late fee waived. She advises other people to do the same.
