The Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating after one person died from a four-vehicle crash Wednesday Morning in Butler Township.

It happened around 8:39 a.m. when a Chevy Trax, travelling northbound on State Route 9, went left of center and collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee head-on, causing it to overturn into oncoming traffic. The Cherokee after being hit, struck a Chevy Silverado.

Another vehicle, trying to avoid the collision, swerved off the road and hit a tree.

Martha Stephen, 85, of Salem, who was driving the Trax, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The other two drivers were transported with non-life threatening injuries.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this crash, according to the OSHP.
