Following deliberations on Friday, a jury in Mercer County Common Pleas Court found 28-year-old Darrell Harrison guilty of third-degree murder.

The Campbell man had been charged with first-degree murder for the April 2023 shooting death of 21-year-old Jayson Burns of Farrell.

Mercer County District Attorney Peter Acker tells 21 News that sentencing is set for October 4.

Burns was shot at a bar on Roemer Avenue.

Police say the incident happened when Burns was involved in a fight with three males that eventually led to Harrison pulling out a gun and shooting Burns, who soon died in the hospital.

According to an affidavit, witnesses told police that Burns was shot while trying to escape as he was being assaulted on the ground.

Troopers with Pennsylvania State Police collected surveillance video from a nearby business which captured the attack.
