A 15-year-old accused in a homicide in the City of Niles on the Fourth of July is scheduled to appear in juvenile court Friday afternoon.

Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Stanley Elkins told 21 News the 15-year-old is scheduled to appear in the Trumbull County Family Court Friday, July 12 at 1:00 p.m. where the charges filed against him will be revealed.

Niles Police Chief Jay Holland previously told 21 News the shooting occurred at what started out as a Fourth of July party at a home on the 300 Block of High Avenue.

That party turned deadly when 23-year-old Brandon Bork was shot in the head and killed. Police say Bork arrived at the party and confronted another man before he was shot.

Police say the 15-year-old suspect confessed to the shooting. He was promptly arrested and taken to the Juvenile Justice Center.
