Kosar needs liver transplant, diagnosed with early stages of Parkinson's disease

Boardman graduate and Cleveland icon Bernie Kosar is dealing with a lot these days.

According to Cleveland Magazine, the 60 year old was placed on the liver transplant list in the spring and was diagnosed by an independent NFL doctor with Parkinson's disease in February.

Throughout is NFL career its been reported Kosar suffered 80 broken bones, 40 surgeries and numerous seizures and concussions.

Kosar has been in the Mahoning Valley numerous times over the last several months for various charity events.

He retired from the NFL in 1996.
