Former Howland pitcher Tanner Scott was selected to his first MLB All-Star game. 

The Miami Marlins pitcher and former Howland Tiger has been awarded 6 wins and just 2 losses over his last thirty games. He has thrown 42 strikeouts this season and becomes just the fifth reliever in Marlins history to be selected. 

Tanner is 28-23 in his career with 46 saves in total. The eight year veteran is in his third season with the Marlins and is now an MLB All-Star. 

The MLB All-Star game will take place on July 16th at Globe Life Field.
