High-speed motorcycle chase in Youngstown leads to one arrested in cemetery
A man is behind bars following a highspeed chase that lead Youngstown Police and Ohio State Highway Patrol throughout Youngstown and ending in a cemetery.
The chase began around 6:39 p.m. on July 2 when Eshaun Lambert, 31, popped a wheelie in front of police on his Yamaha Motorcycle driving down Hillman Street near St. Louis Avenue, according to a police report.
Lambert continued to perform stunt tricks while police chased him. Eventually the pursuit took to the skies with an aviation unit from the Ohio State Highway Patrol after Lambert "wantonly disregarded other motorists, traffic signs and signals and operated recklessly as it made its way to Himrod Avenue and throughout multiple streets on the city's east side."
The aviation unit clocked Lambert at going more than 80 miles per hour
When multiple police units began to converge on his location, Lambert drove into the Mount Hope Veterans Cemetery and went off roading over tombstones and throughout the property, according to the report.
Police apprehended Lambert after firing a taser and hitting him behind the leg.
Soon after, it was discovered that Lambert is wanted in Pennsylvania for possession of dangerous drugs.
Lambert is being held at the Mahoning County Jail and was booked for failure to comply with order or signal of police officer and resisting arrest.
