Honda issues recall of dirt bikes due to potential crash hazard
American Honda Motor has issued a recall of its 2023-24 off-road motorcycles due to a potential crash hazard.
The recall involves 2023-24 dirt bikes with model numbers CRF50F, CRF110F, and CRF125F. These dirt bikes were sold in red and white colors and have "HONDA" printed on the seats.
These products were sold at Honda dealers across the country between September of 2022 and May of 2024 for between $1,700 and $3,900 apiece.
The model numbers are printed on the motorcycle frame above the engine and the VIN number can be found on the left side of the steering head. To check to see if your bike is affected by the recall, click here and enter the VIN number.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the dirt bikes were recalled because the grip can detach from the handlebar, which poses a crash and/or injury hazard.
So far the CPSC has received one report of a crash involving a recalled product resulting in a knee injury.
Anyone who has a recalled bike should immediately stop using it and contact American Honda Motor to schedule an appointment for a free inspection and repair.
