A Warren mother has been sentenced to one year in prison after her one-year-old son died after swallowing drugs.
According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, 32-year-old Aris Rice was sentenced on Tuesday after pleading guilty earlier to involuntary manslaughter and one count of endangering children.
The charge stems from the death of Rice's one-year-old son who ingested prescription methadone in September of 2023, which resulted in methadone intoxication, cardiac arrest, and anoxic brain injury.
The child later died in the hospital on October 1.
