A couple that brought a varied menu and entertainment to rural Columbiana County four months ago announced on Monday that they have closed.

The owners of Elkton's Pub & Restaurant posted the following message on their Facebook page:

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we had to make the painful decision to close our doors Permanently.

The response to our Pub and Chef's Menu was nothing short of amazing.

Thank you to all the guests that came out to enjoy our special place.

The post did not give a reason for the closure.

The pub opened this past February in a renovated barn nearly two centuries old along Route 154 east of the Route 11 Lisbon Interchange.

In addition to featuring live music, the pub served varied dishes such as Beef Braciole, Pork and Prawn Ramen, Pastrami Reuben, and homemade pies.
