Cause of warehouse fire in Campbell under investigation
Multiple fire crews put out a warehouse fire on Wilson Avenue in Campbell Friday.
Belmont Solids Control Tire Division, a tire recycling company, occupies the address where the blaze happened.
According to the Campbell Fire Fighters Union, the first fire engine arrived with only one firefighter, finding heavy black smoke and fire on the east side of the building. The large plume of smoke could be seen by a 21 News crew in downtown Youngstown while on the way to the scene.
Campbell called for mutual aid, bringing firefighters from Coitsville and Youngstown to the scene.
Several roads near the Madison Avenue Expressway including Himrod and Wilson Avenues had to be shut down while crews battled the flames.
No one was injured and the cause is under investigation.
