West Federal Street in Youngstown is reopening Friday afternoon.

According to a press release from the city, West Federal, between Hazel and Phelps streets is scheduled to reopen at 5 p.m. Friday. The road will re-open to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Restaurants can also allow for seating of customers outside Friday as well.

The Youngstown Fire Department approved reopening the road on Friday afternoon following the work to repair cracks in the brick siding at 107 W. Federal Street.

The closure was a precautionary measure after the cracks were discovered in a building on Tuesday, June 18. Market Street remains closed after the gas explosion damaged Realty Tower on May 28.
