Opening statements to begin Tuesday in trial of Youngstown murder, robbery suspect
Opening statements are scheduled to begin on Tuesday in the trial of the suspect in a murder and robbery that took place in Youngstown back in 2016.
Court employees tell 21 News a jury has been selected in the trial of 26-year-old D'Aundre Turner and opening statements are scheduled to begin Tuesday morning.
Turner is the suspect in the murder and robbery of 22-year-old Omar Croom back in March of 2016. Police say Turner and co-defendant Ranee Fitzgerald lured Croom to an address on Oak Street Extension where they robbed him, shot him and left him to die in the street.
Turner was indicted on charges of aggravated murder, murder and robbery and was arrested by U.S. Marshals in May of 2023.
Fitzgerald's case is still ongoing with her next hearing taking place on June 21.
