Kia says owners of 462,869 model year 2020-2024 Telluride SUVs should park them outside because of the risk of a fire.

The carmaker says the recalled models should be parked outside and away from other vehicles and structures until the repair has been completed.

The front power seat motor on the affected vehicles could overheat because of a stuck power seat slide knob, potentially resulting in a fire and increasing the risk of injury.

To fix the issue, dealers will install a bracket for the power seat switch back covers and replace the seat slide knobs, free of charge.

Owners can expect to be notified by mail starting July 30 and can contact Kia customer service at 800-333-4542. Kia’s number for the recall is SC316.
