Couple accused of shoplifting hundreds of dollars of cosmetics in Austintown, East Palestine
A couple from Delaware face charges in Mahoning and Columbiana Counties for allegedly shoplifting hundreds of dollars worth of cosmetics and skin care products from local drug stores.
The Mahoning County Grand Jury has handed up indictments charging 43-year-old Misha Morris of Middletown, Delaware, and 45-year-old David Choma of Newark, Delaware each charged with two counts of theft and two counts of possessing criminal tools.
Austintown Police say that in late March, security video recorded the pair stuffing more than $2,300 worth of goods from the cosmetic section of the Walgreens on Tippecanoe Road, then walking out without paying.
Morris was arrested one day later along Interstate 80, admitting she shoplifted $74 worth of goods from the Giant Eagle on Mahoning Avenue, according to Austintown Police. Choma was driving the car, but police let him go because he wasn't involved in the Giant Eagle theft.
Morris and Choma were arrested four days later by East Palestine Police after allegedly shoplifting more than $1,000 worth of cosmetic and skin care products from a Rite Aid store in the village.
Both have been indicted and await trial in Columbiana County on charges of theft, tampering with evidence, possession of drug abuse instruments, and possessing drug paraphernalia.
