Enbridge Gas Ohio donates $5,000 to families displaced by Realty Tower blast

Natural gas supplier Enbridge announced it is donating money to help apartment residents left without homes after last week’s explosion at Youngstown’s Realty Towers.
A media release from Enbridge Gas Ohio says the company has provided a one-time non-conditional donation to help each family with their immediate needs. A company spokesperson says the donation for each family is $5,000.
Apartment residents have no idea when, or even if they’ll be able to retrieve personal belongings from the building, much less whether the damage is too extensive to permit reopening of the building.
A Chase Bank employee died, and several other people were injured during the May 28 blast at East Federal and Market Streets.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Occupational Safety & Health Administration are investigating the explosion.
