A ribbon cutting was held for a new bridge in West Farmington Tuesday.

The bridge is located along Housel Craft Road and goes over Mud Run.

The project took about 70 days to build.

Trumbull County Engineer Randy Smith says the main issue was the bridge's age and the need to make it wider.

He says it should last the community a long time.

"We look throughout the county to replace bridges that'll end up with a useful life, somewhere around 60 to 70 years," Smith said.

The total cost of the project came in at $477,000 and it was fully funded through the Ohio Bridge Partnership Program.
