A new trial date has now been set for a mother charged in connection with the death of her seven-year-old son in Youngstown.

Court employees tell 21 News a new trial date has been set for 30-year-old Marquaysha Driver who was charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangering in connection with the death of her son Devonte Housley.

Driver is scheduled to go on trial on November 4 at 8:30 a.m. Before that, she's scheduled to appear for another pretrial hearing on September 11 at 9:00 a.m.

According to an indictment, Driver caused Housley's death when he was shot in her home the morning of October 22, 2023. At the time of the shooting, police believed it to have been accidental.
