District Attorney: Driver to face charges in Mercer County double fatality
The coroner has identified the second person killed in the Sunday morning crash in South Pymatuning Township in Mercer County.
David Helberg III, 25, was killed in the single-vehicle crash according to the Mahoning County Coroner.
Twenty-nine-year-old Brenton Tymchyshyn of South Pymatuning Township was pronounced dead at the emergency department of Sharon Regional Medical Center following the 4 a.m. crash in South Pymatuning Township near the intersection of Saranac and Buckeye Drives.
Mercer County District Attorney Peter Acker told 21 News that a truck with three people inside took down a utility pole and power lines, cutting power to homes in the surrounding area.
Acker said the driver will face charges that included homicide by vehicle DUI after being released from the hospital.
Acker said the crash was one of the worst he's seen. It's believed that weather, high speeds, and alcohol were a factor.
South Pymatuning Township Police and State Police are investigating.
