Two Austintown women plead guilty to 'cruelly' abusing, injuring child
Two Austintown women pled guilty to abusing and injuring a child over the course of multiple years.
Court employees tell 21 News both 33-year-old Victoria Hawkins and 29-year-old Jhanette Shipp pled guilty to charges of child endangering and domestic violence.
Prosecutors are recommending a sentence of three years in prison for both women.
The charges stem from abuse that occurred between November of 2019 and November of 2022. Prosecutors previously told 21 News this abuse went "far beyond that seen in typical abuse cases."
According to an indictment, the child had suffered serious harm as a result of the abuse.
Hawkins and Shipp are both scheduled to be sentenced in Judge Anthony Donofrio's court July 11.
