After being convicted of stealing from clients in all three Mahoning Valley counties, a Boardman contractor has been accused of theft once again.

One new theft charge has been filed against John Bartos in the Columbiana County Municipal Court last week. Bartos was arraigned on this charge May 23.

Bartos is already serving a jail sentence of 90 days for his previous conviction in Columbiana County. He was sentenced earlier in May. He will be on probation for three years once he gets out of jail.

Bartos was also charged and convicted of theft in Mahoning and Trumbull Counties. He was also charged in Lawrence County in the Shenango Valley, but his charges were dropped there when a judge decided not to prosecute him.

Bartos has since paid all of his victims back.

At this point, it's unknown when this new alleged offense happened. The last report filed by the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office was filed in October of 2023.

The report alleges that the victim had paid Bartos $3,000 to install front doors onto her home, but this work was never even started and Bartos would not cooperate with the victim or give a refund.

Bartos is due back in court June 17 for a preliminary hearing.
