Austintown fatal hit-and-run suspect pleads not guilty to new aggravated vehicular homicide charge
The man accused of being the driver in a fatal hit and run case in Austintown pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Tuesday.
James Stehura, 49, did not appear in court but entered a written not guilty plea.
Stehura had a felony charge of aggravated vehicular homicide added to his case last week, adding to his three other charges of reckless homicide, failure to stop after an accident and tampering with evidence.
According to police, 66-year-old Linda Adams and her wife were walking their dog along Lancaster Drive on March 11 when Adams was hit by a pickup truck that drove away without stopping.
Adams later died from her injuries.
A nearby Ring doorbell camera at a neighboring home captured a truck believed to be involved in the crash. Police say Stehura's truck was the only one in the area matching the description.
