Warren man pleads guilty in child pornography case
A 64-year-old plead guilty to three counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor and one count of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance.
These charges are all second-degree felonies placed against David Thompson of Mahoning Avenue NW.
He is facing possible indefinite sentences that would total a maximum 30 years or more prison sentence.
At the time of his sentencing, he would also be declared a Tier 2 sex offender and would be required to register with the sheriff's office twice per year for 25 years.
Thompson was arrested in April after Warren City Police received a cyber tip from the Cuyahoga County task force looking into internet crimes against children.
He was held in the Trumbull County Jail on a $100,000 bond after he was arrested.
He was later indicted in July by a Trumbull County Grand Jury on five felony counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor and two counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance.
During a video arraignment in May in Warren Municipal Court, Thompson pleaded not guilty to the charges, and a public defender was appointed to represent him.
