Three charged after fight at 5th, 6th grade band concert in Boardman
Three people are charged after a fight broke out at a 5th and 6th grade band concert at Boardman High School Thursday night.
According to a police report, a school resource officer working during the performance was informed of a fight going on amongst multiple individuals. Police observed two males fighting on the ground and were able to break up the fight.
The two males were identified as 34-year-old Kevin Selley and 39-year-old Jordan Smith.
Police say after the two were handcuffed and separated from one another, a woman, identified as 33-year-old Tracie Calvin came up and kicked Smith in the head causing her to be detained by police as well.
One witness told police that she was walking with Selley to the concert when Smith approached him and the two started exchanging words. Police say Smith eventually snatched Selley's hat off of his head and punched him prompting the physical altercation.
Another witness told police another story claiming that she and Smith were walking when another woman came up to her and said she was the reason they were getting a divorce when Selley came up and punched Smith.
Due to two different stories accusing different parties of starting the fight, the information on the assault was forwarded to the Mahoning County Prosecutor's Office. School security cameras did not capture the fight.
In the meantime, Selley, Smith and Calvin were all booked on charges of disorderly conduct and failure to desist. They're scheduled to be arraigned in Boardman court on May 7.
