People with disabilities may be able to take part in a recreational activity if members of Youngstown City Council give their stamp of approval.
Mayor Tito Brown has submitted legislation for next week’s council meeting that would spend $48,607 for a kayak launch at McKelvey Lake that would offer accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Under the legislation Diamond Waterfronts would install the launch at the lake on Youngstown’s Eastside.
The money for the project would come from American Rescue funds.
