Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has appointed Natasha Natale to the Warren Municipal court to serve as interim judge on Friday.

Natale will be filling the seat formerly held by Judge Thomas Gysegem, who had resigned, for the remainder of his unfinished term. After this, she will need to run for election in November of 2025 for a chance to keep the seat.

Natale will fill the seat beginning May 10.

Natale told 21 News that she was honored to be selected for the position by Gov. Mike DeWine and that she has spent a significant amount of her career in the courts. She also said it is a pleasure to work and live in Warren and give back to the community.

Natale has served as general counsel for the Ohio Public Employees Deferred Compensation Program, as well as a magistrate for the Portage County Common Pleas Court, assistant prosecutor for the Mahoning County Prosecutor's Office, practitioner at Natasha Frenchko LLC and an associate attorney at Mead Pezillo LLP.

Most recently, she's served as a Senior Assistant Attorney General in the Ohio Attorney General's Office.

Natale received her bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University in 2000 and received her juris doctor from the University of Akron in 2004.

Natale is also the sister of Trumbull County Commissioner Niki Frenchko.
