The case of a man accused of killing an Austintown woman in a hit skip crash back in March has been bound over to a grand jury in Mahoning County.

Forty-nine-year-old James Stehura appeared in an Austintown courtroom Wednesday morning where his case was bound over to the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas and is now in the hands of a grand jury.

The grand jury must now consider whether or not to indict Stehura on felony charges of reckless homicide, tampering with evidence and failure to stop after an accident with injuries.

These charges stem from a hit skip crash that occurred in Austintown back in March that claimed the life of 66-year-old Linda Adams, who was walking her dog on Lancaster Drive near Carlisle Avenue.

Footage from a Ring doorbell camera near where the crash took place showed a truck, which police believe to be involved in the crash.

Police say Stehura's truck was in the area at the time of the incident and was the only vehicle there at the time matching the suspect vehicle's description.

The tampering charge stems from Stehura allegedly trying to conceal damage to his truck stemming from the incident.
