Hand sanitizer producer issues voluntary nationwide recall of certain hand sanitizing gels
Aruba Aurba Aloe Balm N.V. has issued a voluntary recall of 40 lots of Aruba Aloe Hand Sanitizer Gel Alcohol 80% and Aruba Aloe Alcoholada Gel for possibly containing methanol.
Substantial methanol exposure can result in nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision and other health risks. Although all people using the products on their hands are at risk, young children who accidentally ingest these products are are most at risk of getting methanol poisoning.
So far, Aruba Aloe N.V. have not received any reports of negative side effects from using these products. Products were sold online only through the Aruba Aloe Balm N.V. website between May 1, 2021 and October 27, 2023.
Aruba Aloe Balm N.V. has notified all customers that bought these products by email and has offered a discount coupon for a next purchase.
