Local businesses team up to hold Swap-A-Palooza
The Neighborhood and Penguin City Brewing are teaming up to host Mahoning Valley's first Swap-A-Palooza on Saturday, April 6 from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the brewery's Pollock Room.
The event is free to enter and open to the public. The Neighborhood says there will be something for all clothing lovers from upcycled vendors, educational tables teaching about mending, natural dyeing and more.
Swap-A-Palooza will be broken up into 3 sections: shopping, swapping, and education. The Neighborhood says that Americans throw away 11.3 million tons of clothing each year, and the event is putting a focus on re-wear, re-use and circularity.
The swap section will include clothing, shoes, and books open to all genders sizes and ages. Left over clothing items will be donated to the Warren Family Mission.
There will be a lot happening throughout the event, with all items being first come, first serve.
