A Farrell man will spend the next eight years of his life behind bars following his conviction of fentanyl and cocaine trafficking.

According to a press release, 37-year-old Maurice Brooks was sentenced to eight years in prison followed by three years of supervised release on charges of distributing fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine.

The incidents occurred in May and June of 2022 while Brooks was already on parole for two convictions of cocaine trafficking from separate state prosecutions.

A search of Brooks's Farrell home revealed fentanyl and cocaine, along with a stolen pistol.

The Mercer County Drug Task Force, Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives all assisted in the investigation.
