Communities in Mahoning and Shenango valley are under flood warnings after three days of continuous rain hammer the area.
The National Weather Service (NWS) is showing minor flood levels in Mahoning and Trumbull counties. In Columbiana, it's showing moderate flood levels.
The Ohio River at Wellsville in Columbiana County has seen the most flooding at 15.7 feet or nearly two feet of flooding for that area.
In East Liverpool. the Ohio River has hit 14 feet or about three feet of flooding for that area, according to the NWS.
Wellsville plans to erect its flood walls at State Route 45 due to the risk of rising water levels Little Yellow Creek is expected to reach 14 foot crest. The village's Mayor Randy Shaylor says the flood walls will be erected around 5 p.m.
In Trumbull County, Eagle Creek at Phalanx Station, has hit 12.3 feet, which is nearly three feet of flooding.
Meanwhile, in Mahoning, the Mahoning River in Youngstown has hit minor flood stage levels.
In Millcreek Park, water rushes through Bear Creek right across from Bears Den Cabin in the park. High waters, collected from the heavy rain fall are collecting in the creek and raising water levels.
A viewer in Lowellville sent us a picture (see below) of a kayak launch and benches along the Mahoning River under water around 7:30 Wednesday morning.
The NWS tracking shows the flood levels should begin to drop by tomorrow.
