Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced the appointment of Columbiana County Municipal Court Judge Katelyn Dickey to Ohio's 7th District Court of Appeals on Friday.

Judge Dickey will assume office on April 10 filling the seat previously held by Judge David D'Apolito. Judge D'Apolito had resigned at the beginning of 2024. Dickey will serve the remainder of D'Apolitio's term and must run again in November of 2024 to retain the seat.

Dickey served most of her career win Columbiana County, serving as a staff attorney for the Columbiana County Court of Common Pleas, a common pleas court magistrate and an assistant county prosecutor before.

She currently serves as a judge in the Columbiana County Municipal Court.

Dickey is a member of The Federalist Society, the Columbiana County, Mahoning County and Ohio State Bar Associations, the Columbiana County Farm Bureau, the Columbiana County Township Association, Columbiana County Business Professional Women, Crestview Local PTO and the Ohio Judicial Conference.

She received her bachelor's degree from Gannon University in 2008 and her juris doctor from the University of Akron in 2012.
