The Ohio State Highway Patrol released dash cam and body cam video from a police chase that started in Poland and ended in Trumbull County.
It was around 1 a.m. on Sunday, March 24 when police started chasing a Chevy Tahoe allegedly driven by 39-year-old Jason Maynard. Police say Maynard failed to stop in Poland Village for speeding.
From Poland, Maynard led police to I-680 North and then 711 and 11 North. He took the exit at State Route 87 and was driving towards North Bloomfield.
Maynard then made his way to 46 towards Mecca eventually pulling into a driveway off Mahan Denham Road and then taking off on foot.
Troopers, Sheriff's deputies and other law enforcement found him hiding near a shed.
After telling Maynard to walk backwards towards them, he stumbled and officers pounced placing him under arrest.
As he was taken into custody, Maynard told officers he was sleeping and questioned why he was in trouble. Maynard said he didn't flee anything and lives close by and has a sleep walking condition.
Maynard was booked on charges of failure to comply, DUI and driving under suspension.
