State Senator Sandra O'Brien has defeated Ohio Representative Mike Loychik in Tuesday's primary race for the Ohio Senate's 32nd District which is currently held by O'Brien.

Unofficial results from the Secretary of State's Office, O'Brien has beaten Loychik with 63.90% of the vote with all precincts reporting.

This district covers Ashtabula, Trumbull and portions of Geauga counties.

O'Brien has been in office since 2020, winning 51% of the vote, and was running for her second term. 

She has pledged to address property re-evaluations that that increased property taxes in the community if she gets re-elected.

Now O'Brien will run against Democrat Michael Shrodek, who ran unopposed in the primaries, in the general election in November.
