Warren woman pleads guilty to involvement in 15-week-old baby's overdose

A Warren woman has pled guilty to her involvement in the drug overdose of a 15-week-old infant.

According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, 47-year-old Alfreda Provitt pled guilty to one third degree felony count of endangering children. She could face a maximum of three years in prison.

The charge stems from an incident back in July of 2023 when Provitt was babysitting the child, who prosecutors say was exposed to Fentanyl when he was placed on a bed with Fentanyl residue on it.

Prosecutors say the child is now almost a year old and still experiences complications from the incident including vision problems and seizures.

Provitt will be sentenced following a background investigation from probation officers.
