The Trumbull County Grand Jury has handed up a twelve-count indictment against a Howland man arrested as part of an investigation into sex crimes involving babies and toddlers.

Jeffrey Barton, 36, faces four counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and eight counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material.

According to the indictment, the alleged offenses occurred between February and November of 2023.

The indictment details the content of the alleged material including sexually explicit images of of infants, as well as others for children as young as three years old and as old as 10 years old.

Barton was taken into custody at his Englewood St. SE home in December during a search by township police and the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a police report, the search was part of an ongoing investigation conducted by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
