WRTA rolling out third-annual campaign to boost small businesses

Small businesses throughout the Mahoning Valley have a chance to get a boost in traffic both literally and metaphorically.
The Western Reserve Transit Authority is beginning its third annual "Give Small Business A Lift," campaign to help promote local small businesses, its owners and their employees.
The campaign will spotlight 12 local businesses that exemplify what the WRTA calls the Valley's entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic.
"Small business is the backbone of our economy across the nation and especially here in the Valley. "Says Dean Harris, WRTA Executive Director. "WRTA is proud to provide transportation to much of the workforce of these businesses and this campaign is our effort to give them the recognition and support they deserve."
To be considered, small businesses in the Valley will complete a short entry form here to nominate themselves. Nominations are being accepted now through March 29.
After the judging process is completed, 12 businesses will be notified the first week in April and presented their awards at a kickoff event April 18 at Concept Studio in Youngstown.
Those winners will be promoted for three months on WRTA buses, the authority's sign in downtown Youngstown, social media and television commercials, according to a news release from the organization.
