Girard man sentenced to life in prison without parole for rape of two boys
A Girard man will be spending the rest of his life behind bars for the rapes of two boys.
Thirty-one-year-old Nicholas Clark was handed two life sentences on seven counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition for the rape of two boys aged seven and eight years old respectively at the time.
According to an indictment against Clark, these incident occurred between 2016 and 2021 with Clark anally raping the two boys.
Testimony from the two boys and members of the family revealed a timeline of the events.
The defense tried to argue that the only evidence shown was the boys claiming these events happened with no physical proof, but the prosecution argued that the boys describing these events in great detail was enough evidence to have him convicted.
Ultimately, the prosecution won the case and stated that Clark got what was coming to him in the end.
"I'm very pleased with Judge Rice's verdict," says Diane Barber, Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor. "She ensured that this will never happen to another child at the hands of this particular defendant."
